Many of you have seen these wonderful Tiktok videos or Facebook reels about U – shaped toothbrushes, convincing people how good they clean and how innovative they are. Sad truth is that it’s half true.

YES they are innovative but they might not clean your teeth or gums like advertised according to research.It is stated that they are not that advanced yet. Not a single pediatric dentistry support that product YET.

Why “yet”? When you brush your teeth with a normal toothbrush, you twist it, turn it and reach places. They say that bristles of a toothbrush have to touch your teeth 45 degree angle to clean which U – shaped toothbrush do not achieve. BUT if they are developed right, there might be a chance that U – shaped toothbrushes will be a thing in the future.

Conclusion

There are many U – shaped toothbrushes on sale (amazon, Ebay, Temu etc) but they might not do their job yet. Wait another 5 years and then lets see where this innovation has got us. Until then keep using regular or standard electric brushes. Think about your teeth and gums!
